Sohani is a fun, adventurer and spiritual truth seeker who loves the simple joys of life like breathing, laughing, dancing and cooking vegetables.
She was born in Sri Lanka, grew up in New Zealand and found Yoga in (of all places) Copenhagen, 11 years ago and hasn’t looked back since. Yoga came to Sohani at a point in her life where she needed to learn the art of stillness and it has now positively infused other aspects of her life.
Sohani wants to share Yoga because it helps individuals find their equilibrium. So, in her classes balancing challenging postures with deep relaxation is a focus. She teaches with humour, love and understands the importance of modifying postures (and classes) to suit the varying needs of individuals.
Sohani has a deep respect for the tradition of Hatha Yoga but her teaching style is also influenced by Ashtanga, Iyengar and Bikram yoga as she had the opportunity to practice with some outstanding teachers. After 10 years of individual practice, in 2017, Sohani travelled to Rishikesh, India to study further (Yoga Alliance 200 YTT) under the guidance of the world renowned teacher Surrinder Singh.
Sohani’s intention is to share some simple tools that she has learnt over the years, to bring more harmony and happiness into your lives, both physically and mentally.
