Foundations of Yoga 🇫🇷🇬🇧 Bilingual

This class is taught by:

Anuradha Goyel

Anuradha hails from India, the birth place of Yoga.

Leaving her corporate career in India behind in 2015 she moved to Paris.

Along with new life, new
challenges came new opportunities, new beginnings. Anuradha got into Yoga and Yoga got into her. She
got connected with her inner self and felt more at peace.

In August 2017, she qualified as Yoga Alliance Teacher (RYT200) from ‘International Sivananda Yoga
and Vedanta Centre’, Himalaya, India. It allowed her to gain a solid grounding in the classical Yoga
tradition. Following her love for Ayurveda, Anuradha completed an intensive course in “Science of Yoga
therapy and Ayurveda” in August 2018 from Rishikesh, India. It gave her deeper insight into Asanas,
pranayama, Bandha, Mudra, Kriya, meditation and philosophy.
She follows Yoga Philosophy, practice and lifestyle as a way of living. She wants to share the gift of
Yoga with one and all. Anuradha believes that Yoga is the way to assist and guide individuals to bring more awareness and self-realization towards health and inner self and develop holistic approach towards
life.

Anuradha is passionate about supporting students attain enhanced flexibility, strength, balance, body
alignment, handling day to day life stress, improving self-confidence and assist them in their own
unique journey on the path of Yoga. Her practice involves mindfulness and utmost awareness
towards inner self and an attempt towards activation of the seven energy centres (Chakras) in the
body in order to bring about transformation and healing from within.

An ardent follower of Naturopathy and Ayurveda, Anuradha's other interests include painting,
reading, exploring new places, meeting new people.

Oriane Douet

Oriane is a 500 hours yoga teacher, trained in China and India in Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin yoga.

She first stepped on a yoga mat a few years ago because she felt the need to disconnect and calm down. She immediately became addicted, and after moving into the bustling city of Shanghai, she decided to become a yoga teacher. Now, she enjoys practicing yoga as much as transmitting her passion.

Her classes are dynamic, while respecting everyone’s bodies and limitations. She likes to invite students to connect to the present moment through breath and movements. Yoga helps her become a better version of herself, and that is what she wants to bring to her students.

Ellen McQueen

Ellen McQueen arrived in Paris June of 2015 after graduating from New York
University with a degree in Creative Writing and Literature. She pursued her passion for literature by working on a fiction book, spending too much time at Shakespeare & Co, and writing articles.

From Paris she was able to explore her love of travel, having now
visited countries in Europe, Africa, and a bit of the Middle East. Her enthusiasm for yoga began as a freshman in a Connecticut boarding school, and followed her to New
York City where she lived for five years.

In February 2017 she had the opportunity toparticipate in a 200 hour ashtanga vinyasa teacher training course in Goa, India with
Kranti Yoga. What began as an alternative to a high school sports requirement has become for Ellen an integral part of maintaining a healthy body, mind, and soul. In New York
City yoga was the perfect reprieve from the chaotic and oftentimes toxic metropolitan life, and in Paris it has provided her with an amazing community and a platform to build
strength and independence.

In an effort to combine a love of art with yoga, Ellen’s classes are typically
centered around a quote from poetry, literature, an artist, etc, and aim to follow a related theme throughout. Each class is intended to be as equally beneficial for the mind and soul as it is for the body. She enjoys variation, learning / incorporating new postures,
and lots of movement following breath. She’s happy to grab a coffee after class and enjoy conversation about yoga, literature, art, travel, history, etc

“I think everything in life is art. What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art.” - Helena Bonham Carter
If you are new to yoga, or if you would simply enjoy a review of the foundational concepts such as proper alignment in the poses, please come join! The class will move at a mild to moderate pace with plenty of explanations to help you feel and decide how to best situate your body in each posture, and will also offer you confidence and knowledge in preparation for faster and more advanced classes.

This class is taught in English and French.
